1. About CoinScribe

CoinScribe is an AI-powered tool for the identification of coins, medals and tokens, operated by CoinScribe B.V. i.o., based in the Netherlands. By using coinscribe.tools or the CoinScribe mobile application, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Entertainment Purposes Only

The AI-generated identification results are based on visual pattern recognition and a reference database. They may be incomplete, incorrect, or misleading. Factors such as image quality, lighting, wear, cleaning, and regional variants can all affect accuracy.

CoinScribe is not a substitute for physical inspection by a qualified numismatist, coin dealer, historian, or licensed appraiser. Before making any decision regarding the purchase, sale, or legal status of a coin or medal, always consult a qualified professional in person.

3. No Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CoinScribe B.V. i.o. and its operators, employees, and affiliates accept no liability whatsoever for:

• Any loss, damage, or harm arising from reliance on CoinScribe's identification results
• Financial loss resulting from decisions made on the basis of CoinScribe's output
• Incorrect identification of a coin's origin, period, mint, denomination or value
• Any legal consequences related to the ownership or transfer of a coin or medal
• Interruption, errors, or unavailability of the service

You use CoinScribe entirely at your own risk.

4. Permitted Use

You may use CoinScribe for personal, non-commercial identification and research of coins, medals and tokens. You agree not to:

• Use CoinScribe in connection with any illegal activity
• Submit images of items that are unlawfully owned or possessed
• Attempt to circumvent access controls, scrape the service, or reverse-engineer the AI model
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit CoinScribe's output without written permission

5. Subscriptions & Refunds

CoinScribe offers paid subscriptions and credit packages. Payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's terms.

Given the digital nature of the service, credits that have been used are non-refundable. For unused credits or subscription fees, refund requests may be submitted within 14 days of purchase by emailing hello@coinscribe.tools. Refunds are granted at our discretion.

EU consumers retain statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Directive, including a 14-day cooling-off period for digital services not yet accessed.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and technology on coinscribe.tools — including the AI model, reference database, and interface — is the property of CoinScribe B.V. i.o. and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without permission.

Images you submit remain your property. By submitting an image you grant us a limited licence to process it for identification purposes, and — if separately consented — to retain it for model improvement.

7. Availability

We aim to keep CoinScribe available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time, with reasonable notice where possible. In the event of discontinuation, unused paid credits will be refunded.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of CoinScribe after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under local law.
